Flores Falsas

The Inspirations

Flowers seem very simple yet have a complexity between their petals. To support the garden flowers absorb energy from the sun and produce pollen to assist their ecosystems. To ensure a thriving harvest
The aesthetic for spring of 2020 is focusing on the different tones, shades, & contours of the human body when accented with artificial flowers.
Working with a select few of my favorite Miami local models which I am eternally grateful for their contribution.
My goal has always been about simple images personality type of my subjects and the poses found in the “flow” of the shoot.

For this concept I was inspired by
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio was an Italian painter active in Rome for most of his artistic life. During the final four years of his life he moved between Naples, Malta, and Sicily until his death. Wikipedia
Wilhelm Iwan Friederich August Freiherr von Gloeden was a German photographer who worked mainly in Italy. Wikiped
Damotta Fabio, a traveling Shibari and BDSM photographer. Something between the electric tape masks and clothespins that calls to my spirit is the flower used to decorate human bodies while these very bodies are restricted by silk ropes being a viewer of his work makes me tap into the feeling of vulnerability felt by the subject.
Although BDSM is seen as a taboo subject there is a sense of release felt under compassionate restraint portrayed in Fabio’s photography. Having the flowers slightly insinuate the concept of fragile masculinity. In my photos there is no protral of bdsm yet. Hopefully soon. For now, just the use of flower-like decor.
